Howdy, I seem to be getting a significant "hum" out of the rigging (I think), usually on a reach with a good bit of wind. It does not seem to happen when I am close hauled.
I am not sure it is the rigging though, it seems to come from the leeward side, I thought it could be the tiller but I am not getting any vibration out of it.
I get the sense that it might be slowing me down (i don't like to go slow), and if corrected might make for quicker, less noisy, sailing.
Any thoughts.
Btw, i love the wave, it flys in a good wind and i seem to be just the right weight to spend a significant part of my time with only one hull in the water!

The hum you are getting is probably from your rudders. Can't say how much impact it has on your speed. I had it coming from both rudders, one more that the other, never felt it in the tiller.

Here's a link on how to get rid/reduce it.

i have had the humming sound when sailing the getaway and we were flying.
it has to do with the rudders and when you have good speed they start humming, at least that's what i found.
it shouln't have any effect on your speed.

You can get rid of it by filing down the trailing edge of your rudders.
