Hey Matt, Dave bought me a brandy, spankin new Wave sail for my birthday!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() (turned the big 30, again) Is the number in pencil on the Hobie emblem the sail production number? 18395 I understand that Wave sails are not numbered like the other class sizes, why is that? Is it time for a new trend? If it's about fashion, I'd be happy to set-up! I know I can order #'s from Boat Works. Thanks Mimi |

Happy 30th Birthday Mimi! I think Hobie stopped numbering sails after the H16's topped 1,000,000. Too many digits for an RC to keep track of, and call out as the boats crossed the finish line! So any more, I think the "rule" is: pick any number you like, put it on your sail, and hope no one else with the same number shows up at a regatta with you. Personally, I used the same convention as the other OD boats in my club, and used the four digits in the middle of the serial number, thus 7358. I bought the numbers from the local Hobie dealer in a font and size I liked. Alligning the rows on both sides of the sail was the tricky part; there are no truly straight lines or right angles on a Wave sail for reference! |

Hey, you can celebrate (the anniversary of) your 30th birthday for as long as you want! My wife says I got stuck on my 14th birthday, and never grew up any more. |

Since the Wave is built as a recreational boat... like the Bravo and the Getaway... the numbers are not used by anyone and detract from the "fun" look. There is no official numbering list for these models. Pick a favorite number and run with it. Many do that in other classes anyway. As long as it is not duplicated at an event... a non issue. If duplicated, you can easily change (temporarily) a number using Duct Tape. |

Thanks, Matt. Brother Tom solved the issue yesterday. He gave me Fleet 204 sail cloth stickers! Very nice. Mimi |
