Post subject:  Cat Tracks

I need advice on how to use cat tracks with a wave. The shroud on a wave isn't near the balance point of the boat and when I tie the cat tracks to the shroud I have to carry the stern of the boat like a wheel barrow :-\

If I try and put the tracks near the balance point they don't stay put and they roll forward. Any help welcome. Thanks,

Getting cradles would help. If you are going a distance... loose lines to the shrouds and a third line pulling aft on the tracks to the rear cross beam would stabalize the position.

I had the same problem. I attached four pieces of rope to the axle (two of one color for the front of the wave, and two of another color for the rear of the wave). Each piece of rope has a welded ring and a snap hook on it. I roll the cat trax under the hulls and pull a rope around the cross bar between the hull and the tramp. I loop it around the cross bar and attach the snap hook to the welded ring. I do that on all four. The ropes are the proper length to place the cat trax under the hulls where everything is balanced better. I usually attach the front first and have enough rope past the snap hook to allow me to hold the back ropes while wading to the back of the boat. Once it is set properly, it makes for easy attachment every time.

Or if you are pushing the boat from the rear, a loop tied around the trax axle with other end tied off to the front crossbar?

The same "wheelbarrow" carrying problem is an issue.

Getting the cradles was definitely a back saver.

The sweetest solution is the handle that attaches to the axle with the cradles, but distance to beach is not so much of a problem at the moment and therefore the handle is not in the budget right now.
