Post subject: | Water in rear cross-bar |
My dilemma: I need to take what sounds like 1-2 pts pf water out of the rear cross-bar. I don't know how it got in there! I've loosened one of the two mainsheet-block assembly steel-mounting (pad-eye?) screws and the water is presently dripping out. The screw doesn't come out the whole way, and it doesn't want to re-tighten either. Does that mean there's a nut inside the cross bar? and that it will be accessible via what looks like a removable 1/2-inch diameter plastic plug on the opposite face of the cross-bar? Hopefully I haven't dug myself into a hole with an untightenable screw!? Advice appreciated! |

Fixed ... the plastic cap on the crossbar opposite the block-attachment pops off easily (using a blade) to access the locknuts to allow re-tightening. That cap was also the likely water entry point too as it wasn't exactly tight. Problem solved! |
