| Dear all Thank you all for your input in these forums. I have sailed Hobie 14’s in the past but have not had a cat over 10 years. Info from this forum helped me to decide on a wave. I have purchased a second hand 2000 Wave and have a few questions. On the mast tip there is a large chip at the joint point, see picture. Will this cause any problems, how can I repair. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee3 ... stjoin.jpg The tiller connections are screwed like my old 14, I thought Waves all had quick disassemble connections, can I retrofit, see photo. I would prefer to travel with the rudder removed. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee3 ... ection.jpg Looking forward to getting on the water again. | |

| I just bought a 2010 Wave and found the same chipping on the comp tip at the joint. Sorry I can't help you, BigMac. But I am hoping someone knows if this is significant or not. | |

| Seems to be a common problem, better to prevent than repair, but there's some information from Matt Miller in another post, here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=49189 | |
