Post subject:  New Wave - does mast need sealing?

I bought a new Wave and wondered if the mast comes sealed or if I need to do anything?

I've read all the mast sealing posts I can find, but they are usually for older boats, not brand new ones.

The dealer assembled everything, including the two mast sections, I haven't taken them apart. I intend to keep them together for storage and transport. I'll only take them apart if I need to do anything to make them watertight.

Thanks, Andy

Wave masts are sealed. The only issue is leaving the Wave mast up in areas that freeze. Water in the joint can freeze and force the plug open. Then leak into the lower mast, freeze again and cause damage. No freezing? No problem. Freezing conditions? Seal it at the joint and take the mast down when it is going to get cold enough to freeze.

OK. Thanks. I think I'm good. I garage store my boat with the mast stored almost horizontally. It will freeze in the garage while it's laid up for the winter, but there won't be rain or snow to cause water entry, unless condensation is enough, which I hope not.
