How much water normally gets it the hulls?

As some weekends I have nothing.

Some weekend like today I was draining them for 30 secs or more l.

But we did have some big waves.

Is this normal or to be worried about.

I could confirm from personal experience that access ports resealing improve situation a lot.

I too get water in the hulls. I found and fixed most of my leaks by venting the exhaust of a shop vacuum into the drain plug and spraying windex in all the suspect places. My only leaks after repair are from the inspection ports which need new seals.
I may drain a few quarts at most and I think some of the water gets in while I rinse the boat.

Like all boats with a plethora of through hull fittings, the Wave is the wettest boat I've had. My H17 and 18 were also very wet boats. If I sail all day it will take around 30 to 60 seconds to drain. I have a Wave that has never had inspection ports or any modifications since mfg in 1995. There are factory ports flush mounted under the glue-on seat pads. You can kinda feel them if you run your hand over the pads. Mostly, the boat needs never have aftermarket ports installed. They can be culprits for water intake, especially when they get cracked, old or when the O-ring gets hard. In flat water sailing, I get almost no water at all. It is from sailing in 1/2' or greater chop that my boat takes on water. It is only a hypothesis, but I think it comes through the tubes that the crossbars fit into. Small stress fractures around the tubes may form and allow water intake when going through big chop. However, the boat is easy to drain so I just don't worry about it. There are 5 of them here at Lake Mead and they all take on some water. I would only be concerned if they take on a half gallon or more in easy sailing conditions. Since I race the boat often it has been my practice to drain the boat each day, as like all cats, water weight slows you down. Though not so much on the Wave.

I have tried to make my Wave leak free. It's not worth the effort.....
