My EZ Lock Rubbers don't lock in the up position. They stay up for a while but slide back down with any movement of the boat. Sometimes they slide down without any movement of the boat. The rudder heads appear to have quite a bit of flex in them, but I don't know what normal is as I am new to the Wave world. I see on the parts list there is a part EZ LOC PLUNGER 20492021. By the name and the location it looks a new plunger may be a fix for my problem? Has anyone needed to replace a plunger? My Wave is a 2007.

Try tightening the hex head bolt that is in the middle of the rudder assembly. It has a locking nut. Usually a half turn may be enough to solve your issue....make sure you do not adjust too tight that you lose the kick up feature. The bolt/nut simply squeezes the rudder housing closer creating more friction on the plunger. Good Luck!

There is a nylon pin used to hold them up for storage. People commonly let them sag down half way and sit on the beach... this flexes open the housing and disable the up hold.

You can replace the housings and or the cams.

Yikes! Perhaps the fault lies...ahhh...within?.
Maybe a Blue Pill?

The rudders don't wobble in the housing so I figured it was as tight as it should be. I'll try to put a 1/4 - 1/2 more turn to see if that helps. If not I'll try the plunger. For 6 bucks it worth a try before I replace the housing which I am sure is way more that 6 bucks.

As for the Blue Pill. No pills are needed when I'm sailing my Wave except for some Advil. :o

Thanks for the suggestions.
