My son will be storing my old Wave outdoors (Nashville area). If there's any moisture in the mast is it possible it can become trapped - expand - and split the mast extrusion ? Has anyone drilled a hole somewhere in the mast to assure drainage ? Any other thoughts, ideas, etc. thanx, bill

If the mast is still sealed, I wouldn't drill it. It is pretty easy to tell if there is water in the mast. It makes a sloshing sound when the mast is held horizontal, and then rotated slightly tip up and slightly tip down. If storing the mast outside, it may be a good idea to store the mast track facing down, so long as the plastic tracks on the comp tip aren't loaded. I have had the sail track on a H16 blow out due to an ice jam in the sail track. The mast was left up all winter. In the spring I was able to mostly fix the issue with a blunt object, but now I have a crack running a few inches along the sail track in the mast.
