Post subject: | Classic Hobie Wave - Which extra parts should I have |
Hello. As mentioned in previous posts, I recently bought a Classic Hobie wave. Really loving it. I'm about to place an order for a replacement cam kit. Before I place the order I'm wondering what extra parts a Hobie Wave owner should have on hand (I don't live close to a store in which I can quickly get replacement parts). I have sail tape and a few clevis pins and shackles. Is there anything else that I should have ready? Again, many thanks. Craig. |

Also for classic I strogly recommend have spare set of stuff that screwed into crossbar: square nuts, bolts and tangs. |

Electrical tape. I use the cheap stuff. Wrap everything. ALL RING-DINGS MUST BE TAPED. About three wraps around the swages on the stays to protect the mast, the forestay adjuster, the side stay adjusters under the vinyl covers, anything that you find that is sharp. Swimming expeditions usually happen unexpectedly. Maybe a couple of pieces of modern super strength 1/8" line. It's amazing what you can tie back together. What I end up loaning to people is a mast erecting pin (with a big tag on like a gas station washroom key), and a thin wall socket to adjust your rudder engagement. You can buy an expensive one from Snap-On or grind down a cheapish one. A really cheap one will break, I know it's not helpful for me not to tell you what size but mine, of course, has the markings ground off ![]() Great boat isn't it? |
