I'm not yet a Wave owner, so the first time I trailer one will be the day I pick it up. I've searched the forum and read the on-line manual(s), but am unsure where to detach the mast rigging for trailering. Are the shrouds and bridle detached at the to-the-boat connections? Once disconnected from the boat, do the shrouds and bridle remain attached to the mast during trailering? Also, I've read of the importance of removing the rudders for transport. At what connection point is this done? Thanks for any help. Kevin |

The way this is done mostly depends on the distance of travel. Very long trips may require further dis-assembly. For a up to a few hours drive you can leave all the wires attached and just tie the slack on the trampoline. I prefer to double the wires over in the middle and weave in and out of a few lacing lines in the trampoline. Tie the ends so they can come back out. Tie the bridle with something to keep it suspended and not dragging or banging abound. Rudders are always best removed so the don't get damaged from the movement or other cars. They are simple to remove with a small clip under bungee tension holding it in place. Remove the tiller crossbar. Then remove each rudder assembly. Although many still trailer around town with the rudder system hanging off the boat. I do that. |
