Curious if there is a class for a Wave or is it just for knock around fun? If so, what class? |

There are two groups racing the Wave. One is the Hobie Class Association and another is more of an open-minded class "Formula Wave Class" which allows open sails. It is a much-loved platform and draws some of the best sailors to fight it out. This is such a fun boat to sail, especially in higher winds. https://hobieclass.com/hobie-classes/hobie-wave/ https://www.formulawaveclass.com/ |

Matt, Thanks for taking the time to answer. Been away from sailing from 40 years and the Wave seems tailored for an older guy. The Hobie 16 was fun back in the mid 70's but now I am in my mid 70's and at 140 lbs sailing solo in a Hobie 16 is an adventure waiting to happen.. |

Yes! I sold my A Cat and all of my trapeze gear to race Waves in both classes. Waves are fun racing boats for young and old! BC ![]() |
