I have a 1996 Wave classic, and the wire-to-rope halyard has separated. Are there alternatives to the $136 original? I know that there's a vendor on ebay at $89, but after paying almost $19 for shipping, I'd probably stick with OEM. I haven't found anyone who can make this. I've seen various forum posts from many years ago about switching to all-line, but would like to stick with the wire/rope splice if possible. Thanks.

Resorts have been using halyard line only. It is difficult to get the required tension to hold the sail head in at the top of the mast which is critical. That is what the wire part does best. It locks the sail head in at the top of the mast.
