My 2007 Classic Wave has eye straps on both sides of on the bottom of the forward crossbar, like the Assembly Manual indicates that the Club Wave does. Should I should follow the Club instructions for tying the righting line, and not use the eye straps on the top of the crossbar that are used to tension the trampoline? Is the brass grommet in the forward centre of the tramp used for anything? Will |

I decided to feed the righting line over the forward crossbar and through both the upper and lower eye straps before tying the bowline. Will |

That will certainly work. The key to passing the line through an eye strap is to keep the line routed to the outboard end of the crossbar for righting. Without it, the line would pull down against the trampoline and possible tear it when righting. The grommet is for a mast cradle system #38650041 that stores the two mast sections on the trampoline when trailering. A bungee can pass through the grommet to secure the mast carrier and mast to the boat. |

Thanks for the information. I went for my first sail today and had to use the righting line. As I was returning home I was feeling pretty confident, having learned to tack and gybe, and sailed close hauled toward our dock (the wind was coming directly off shore). A strong gust caught me be surprise and the Wave turtled. I climbed onto the upside down tramp and then onto one of the hulls to right it. Not only did it right itself, but it kept on going and capsized in the other direction! I eventually righted the Wave, climbed aboard and luffed my way home as I was pretty tried at this point. That was a blast. |

No mast float? We highly recommend the mast float when sailing the Wave. It can be very difficult to right from turtle. |

It has a mast float, but it was able to turtle anyway. I don't think that it did so immediately, only when I was trying to position the hulls 45 degrees off the wind. Will |
