| Post subject: | Attaching my Jib |
I purchased a jib kit, but the silly directions do not seem to help me. Perhaps it is me and not the directions....either way, I have yet to properly install the Jib. Anyone have suggestions or pictures that would help? |

The directions for the installation of the jib kit on the Club are on one side and the Classic on the other. Putting the spreader bar on is straight forward as is the jib halyard pigtail. Just plug and play so to speak. Installing the jib cleats on the Club requires un lacing the tramp and pulling them forward until you can see the two big screws on the side of the tramp track (newer boats '06 and later I think). Take the big screws out and then loosen two screws on either side of where the big screws go (there is a brass insert for the big screws). Using a big flat tip screwdriver, carefully pry the track away from the hull. It is sealed with silicone so give it a moment to peel away. Slide the jib cleat into position llining up the mount holes. Use a drop of thread lock on the jib cleat screws and tighten down. Put a tiny dab of silicone on the other screws you loosened and tighten up. Repeat the process on the other side. Lace the trap back up and go sailing with you new jib kit. Jay KO Sailing |
