Post subject: | Comp Tip Foam Plug deterioration |
I took my Wave out this afternoon, perhaps for the last time this season. Had a great time, winds 10-20mph. With fall upon us, nice cat sailing days are coming to a close here in Maine. So, getting to the point, I took the mast down for the first time since I bought it new in July. The foam plug in the comptip appears to be coming apart, almost like it it is 'drying' out, kind of shrinking and brittle. Very little actually left to seal it closed. Weird, it is almost like excessive heat or something. But only 4 mos of exposure to sun should not have done this, right? (I am hardly in the sunbelt ![]() Anyone else ever experience this? |
