Fishing for anything other than sea trout, jacks, and ladyfish was poor (we are not night fishermen like Redfishn’ale.) Still, I think you will find it interesting. Thats just awesome. I have two other guys here at my work that would love to plan a trip like this. Problem is....we work...maybe one day it will work out in our favor. Great report though....without a doubt. |

Great trip report and the pictures were spectacular! I'm planning a five day kayak fish/paddle trip to the Core Banks of North Carolina and was wondering if you could list the equipment/gear that you took with you on your trip. Also, how much water did you bring with you and how did you keep the batteries for your cell phone, fish finder, etc charged? I'm thinking of purchasing a solar powered charger so any reccomendations you might have would be much appreciated. Thanks..... |

Hi Fish, I've just posted my lists on the AI forum. Here is the link: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=59947#59947 There is a "water" list, actually a spreadsheet. Just scroll down p5 until you see the lists. Regarding batteries, etc. I carry plenty of AA and AAA batteries. For my cameras and VHF radios, which have propriatory batteries, I have a second battery. All of these I carry in a small dry box, 2 actually. In one box, I have the AA and AAA batteries, and the other I have the proprietory batteries and extra memory cards for my cameras. I've tried the solar charger route for my phone--the problem is they are expensive, must be protected from water damage, and require significant amounts of time set up in the sun. Currently, I use a "Charge2Go!" system. It is small, uses AA batteries, and simply transfers their charge to the proprietory battery in your phone.
