I'm getting psyched up for this year's Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament! I use the Hobie through the winter, so I know the equipment's all ready. I'm unwrapping some of my Christmas gift tackle in preparation. It's a great tournament, and a chance to meet some of the kayak fishermen whom we ordinarily only get to talk to through message board posts. That was probably the best part - connecting with 200 other kayak fishermen. Between the raffle prizes (everyone wins something), the food, the fishing and the stories, it's an event that shouldn't be missed. |

I had almost forgotten. It really blew last year. It was nice early on, but I took a beating getting back late in the day. I didn't want to quit, so I hung in there, but I put that kayak through its paces returning to the ramp. Remember the guy in the boat that blew over just north of the ramp? |
