I have a outback but was thinking of getting a pro angler. What I was wondering is with the rudder in it's location it doesn't look like the electric motor would go there. I would not want it in the mirage drive area for shallow water issues and the fact that the peddles are a nice back up. Do you think it's possible to do a clean instalation on a second rudder for the rear bar on the angler? Or is there a kit already? |

Brambo, I assume you are talking ablout the Torqeedo Evolve electric? If so, I believe it can be mounted either in the Mirage well or as a rudder mount with remote drive controls on most Hobies except the PA, I think it only mounts in the Mirage bay on PA. I'm sure someone can correct me here if I'm wrong? Troutbum |

I was hopeing there was a kit already to install the torqeedo on the rear of the PA. I went and looked at a PA yesterday and can mill out a bracket and install another rudder for the rear handle on the PA. I may use a minnkota with electric steering anyway. The plan is to be able to stand, fish, and have boat control. |

I just put more money into my mirage outback I'm trying to get rid of. I'm gunna wait to get the angler for few weeks. Trouble with having machine tools in the garage is I get to many ideas. For standing and fishing I'm working on extention sections for the oar T handle and a attachment for a push pole. That fixes the controling the boat while standing. As far as the electric motor, I think I will build a mount and use a minnkota since there a fraction of the price of the torqeedo. |

Howdy Brambo, i would get a Torqueedo Ultralight, which the evolve is obviously based on. You will not be able to mount it in the mirage drive well, but it is easily mounted to the stern and will kick up when it hits anything to avoid damage. It has the exact same specs as the evolve and is cheaper! http://www.torqeedo.com/en/sn/image-library/videos/ultralight.html |

If I was going to go to the trouble of building a mounting bracket I would mount it on the front for better control. |
