As the Humminbird SideImaging sounder requires the transducer to be below the hull, I used a ram mount as the base to hang the transducer over the side of my Outback. See here for some photos http://www.akff.net/forum/viewtopic.php ... 49#p403433 |

I have been struggeling with my thru the hull transducer...I don't mark fish well, and keep thinking I'd like to mount the td outside the hull. Your pic's of you install are great, but could you elaborate a little more on how you have mounted that side imaging (oh man I'd like one of those, but they are so expensive)transducer? |

Cool idea. I was going to ask about drag but noticed you have a torqeedo motor. Nice |

The transducer is just mounted on a bit of aluminium bar and bolted to the RAM mount at the other end. I added another bit of aluminium at the top of the bar so it was wide enough to fit the RAM mount holes. I thought it might cause a bit of drag and I was going to put an edge on the front of the bar. But I don't even notice it when peddling so I haven't worried about it. |
