After having armed myself with a swag of new hardware and software I'm now able to begin work on a new kayak fishing show. New format, new style, new presentation, new name: Yakass - Coastal Kayak Fishing Show (I grew tired of trying to defend the moniker 'War on Fish'.) Whilst this clip only really demonstrates some of what I'll be able to do in future episodes (best cam wasn't used), it should serve as a pretty good teaser. The pilot episode starts off with a quick piece on humpback whale close encounters followed up with some fishing action, including a hectic double hookup on a couple of Mack tuna. Followers of my other videos and War on Fish would know how the limitations of my gear held back my style, but you can see how I'm breaking away from those limits here. Future episodes will be twice the length of the pilot, and will contain real-time digital narration as well as the voice-over narration that I have experimented with here. They will also include a majority of footage captured on a very snazzy cam (thus excellent quality footage) and all will be presented in 1080HD (the pilot is 720p). Still some tweaking to do on volume levels for music and narration, and some normalization of voice-over audio, but that'll be pretty easy to achieve. The 1st full episode will be released early December, a 2-part episode that will follow myself and 3 other adventurers on a week-long kayak fishing expedition. If our trip is anything like last year, it should make for some awesome viewing. Enjoy. And as always, feedback welcome. Especially now as I prepare to begin work on the first full episode. |

Great video. I'm not into fishing, but watching your videos is making me want to try it. Looks like great fun and you make it look so easy - which I'm sure its harder work that it looks. Keep them up. ![]() |

I'm a big fan, Josh. Love the videos. They are inspiring. Agree with the name change too. I wanted to ask you all about your custom built Mirage drive and other boat tweaks. But first, I really need to know- where to get that "Blade" bait you are using?? Shaka Brah! Keep um commin, |

NOHUHU, truth be told I'm unsure what it is because I can't read Japanese and thats about all thats on it. But if you contact Big River Tackle (website shakeandbake.com.au) and ask them about it, they'll know. Tell them you're interested in the big Japanese blades Josh has been using (mention a red-headed and pilchard style, RRP AUD$24.95, and he'll know which one for sure). They do mail order. Their larger size Shake & Bake blades are pretty effective as well. ![]() |

Awesome vid! It looks tricky to fish with the Adventure fully rigged, that's for sure. Not to mention and double hookup of bonito! |
