OUTBACK
i am taking the outback to corpus christi bay for a month or so in january.
have purchased the sail unit to make it easier to get to some of the fishing areas that i have in mind, maoinly shamrock island which is a half mile +/- out, the wind at this time of year on the bay can sometimes be quit noticable - i do not intend to use the sail on very windy days but you can always be caught out - i will wear a pfd but the water is cool and i really do not want to go swimming if at all possible.
some input from you who have sailed the outback would be greatly appreciated.
are the small inflatable amas a real necessity?
thanks,
:)

The amas are a necessity if the wind kicks up, but you can do without if the winds aren't above 6 knots - anything above that and you risk a knockdown.

Here is a filtered list of all my postings on my blog that you can check out for Outback sailing content.
