| Post subject: | Where to launch & fish in Destin,Fl? |
I will be vacationing in Destin, Fl in September and would like to know where to launch and fish while there. I have a Hobie PA that I have owned about a month and love salt water fishing here at home in it and would like to do the same while on vaca. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

We have launched off of Grayton Beach and done well. Check out the article Cheap Thrills from Professional Kayak Angler Ben Adrien in the Kayak Angler Magazine from the Early 2011 edition. In September and October we will be fishing out of Panama City Beach. I would recommend going to a local bait shop and picking up a map for coordinates for reefs, and or wrecks. Have a good GPS, and depth finder so you can locate the structure. Catch bait with a cast net before going out, pick up some frozen squid, and Cigar minnows from the bait shop also. |

Go online to the Pensacola Fishing Forum and Gulf Coast Kayak Fishing Forum,there's alot of great information and guys there.Ask for help or "who wants to go" and you'll get answers........... Robin |

If you're around the Panama City, Fl area there is a kayak fishing club (PCKFA) that meets monthly. They are relatively new, but have been organizing fishing trips inshore and nearshore. Great folks. Capt. Linda started it, and she is a local kayak fishing guide. Hook up with them (no pun intended!). |
