Post subject: | Hobie Livewell Questions |
I did some searches and either couldn't find the answer or they are older and might be outdated information wise. 1) Does the livewell fit a 2011 Oasis? its not listed on hobie's site but its listed in the pdf. 2) Does the water leak out when not on? My use will be primarily with small herring which I would like to pick up from the bait shop in the livewell then mount on my yak when I get to the water. Will this fit my needs? 3) I read about people having to do mods for clogging. Has this been resolved with newer models? 4) Are there any new features that are on the current model I need to make sure I am getting or coming out soon that I should hold off and wait for? Thanks |

Yes it fits the new style Oasis - The water would leak out if the pump is turned off , however there is a provided cap that you can use to cover the exit of the pump and this way it will keep the water level. The battery will run all day though, so not a real need to turn off and on. (maybe a fishing expert can chime in on that point since I'm not one) The clogging issues I think are rare it all depends on where you are located. Some people have just installed a simple screen onto the intake tube and had good success. We haven't made any changes to the livewell and there isn't any huge changes coming out that we're aware of. Hope that helps you out. Have a Hobie Day |

How about a 2010 Oasis? Would the Hobie livewell fit in that? I can't see rear scupper holes in the pictures. |

Sorry, but it only started fitting with the introduction of the 2011 Oasis model. |
