I thought I would share my install of a Jackson Elite seat on my 2014 Outback. This is the best modification I could have ever done to this kayak. I feel like I am back in my 2011 Pro Angler, minus the weight of the Pro Angler. I have seen no noticeable change in the center of gravity with this new seat, and everything (except the rudder control) is easier to reach. The rudder control is just a little too far forward now, but I can still reach it. It is much easier to stand and reach my front camera mount than it was before. I am more than happy with this new install. I just HATE to hear that the new 2015 Outbacks are coming out with an elevated seat, when I just bought mine earlier this year, but I think my setup will work just as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great details, thanks for sharing. If I didn't take my Outback offshore, I'd do this instead of buying a 2015 model. |

As long as everything goes according to plan, this kayak will be taking me fishing into the Gulf of Mexico in two weeks. I am not hesitant at all to take this kayak beyond the breakers. It feels almost as stable as my 2011 Pro Angler did while sitting down. |

Xi Bowhunter i put the same seat in my Outback too and it`s working out fine for me too. Best thing is it is much easier get out of after 4 or 5 hours out on the water and the better view. On page 3 of this post i show an adapter that really helps bring the rudder control into reach. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=50839 |

I see that Jackson has their elite seat on sale for $106. I modified this seat on my former Outback as others and now use it on my Adventure Island. Cant go wrong for that price ![]() |

Cant go wrong for that price ![]() Jackson actually has them on sale for $50! I bought 3 of them wi $60 shipping (yikes) for $210 total. Keeping my fingers crossed that they'll work out on my revos and sport. Thanks for all the ideas everyone. |

It looks like it fits just right up front, but I don't know about the back. I had to make a riser for the back of my Jackson seat to fit level in my Outback, but I don't know how the back of the seat fits in the Revo. ![]() |

Bowhunter did you make your riser out of starboard, or wood? Is it glued to the hull deck or just loose, and also serving to distribute the weight fro the contact points? Nice work, thanks! |

Nice work, thanks! The riser is made from two 2x4's stacked on top of each other. They are glued to the kayak using marine goop. It also serves to distribute the weight. The front legs of the seat are wrapped in pipe insulation and taped to soften those contact points as well. |

Nice video. Are the clevis pins drilled through both 2x4s or just 1 & sandwiched in between? Thanks! |
