With the newer boats with the "Lowrance ready" transducer pocket does anyone have a source for exactly which Lowrance transducers will fit (easily, tight fit, or not a chance)?

The DSI transducer on my Lowrance Mark 4 DSI fits in there just fine if that helps.

The Hobie kayaks with a transducer pocket come with a bracket for Lowrance transducers, but for a couple of bucks, Hobie sells brackets for other brands of transducers. So you can use any brand of fish finder with a kayak which has a transducer pocket.

However, a sidescan sonar transducer won't work in a transducer pocket, because the transducer needs to be mounted below the level of the keel of the kayak. As a result, if you buy a fish finder with sidescan sonar, you'll need to mount the transducer on a movable boom next to your kayak.

you don't really need to use any of the gizmos to attach the transducer. i use a SS bolt, nylock nut and a couple of washers.

here's a list of Common transducers that fit.

HST-WSBL
200kHz, 83kHz

HST-DFSBL
200kHz, 50KhZ

HS-WSBL
200kHz, 83kHz

HST-WSU
200kHz, 83kHz

these are the most common. there are over 3 dozen transducer options, but most are not appropriate.
the one that seems to give Hobie guys the most trouble is the CHIRP, model "sylvester" and is a 200/50khz. its physically larger because it has 4 active elements instead of 2. it will fit, but modification has to be done to the attachment arm.
and of course LSS2, StructureScan won't fit. it's like 12" long.

How we are supposed to fit in the hst-dfsbl transducer in a hobie compass lowrance ready? it seems that the transducer is fat and when i press it in , it is really tight with the plastic mount. any photos or videos would really help!
I am thinking maybe stick it with some silicone or some kind of glue...
