![]() ![]() Hello and excuse my english, but i'm french, so.... I received my brand new revolution 16, 2 weeks ago. i used it 6 times in salt water. As recommended in the topic Miragedrive Lubrification Points, i bought the BreakFree lube (not easy to find in France) and before my first use of the MirageDrive i put some Breakfree on it. One week after i put again the BreakFree lube on the MirageDrive. Of course, after each use i rince concensiously my revo and my MirageDrive, i have all my time to do that because i'm retired, and my house is on the beach, so 2 minutes after my trip, i rince my Revo. Yesterday, i look closely and i saw what's in on the picture. This part with rust it's certainely not stainless steel, and it's full of rust just after 2 weeks and a good maintenance. It's unbelievable. Am i the only one, or it's a know problem ? I expect a solution from Hobie and i hope they change this in the future. Can you tell me where can i order this part in real stainless steel ? Thank you for your help. |

Have your dealer request new threaded parts. This is a known issue where the supplier did not passivate the stainless properly. It is simply surface rust caused by machining tools, but does look bad. It will not rust through and will quit at some point as the surface residue dissolves. |
