Out of the entire Hobie line, I'm befuddled why this wasn't the 1st one to offer camo? i.e. (bass/duck boat)

I'm sure marketing research did their homework, but I'm still surprised at the dune only call. Maybe the views on this subject might give insight, or not.

Probably production cost, if I were to guess -- dunno

That's all I got -- as you were :oD

I suspect it has to do with volume of sales. I'm looking forward to getting the 17T next spring, but we had a very hard time finding a demo in the mid-atlantic area this summer. Finally found a rental in Wildwood, NJ and by then, our season was almost over. It seems a lot of dealers won't even keep one in stock, much less a demo unit. Without easy access to demos, sales volumes suffer, round and round we go. If Hobie wants to move more of these, they'll need to come up with some sort of consignment/demo incentive for the dealers so they don't get stuck with inventory that isn't selling. A lower price wouldn't hurt either. $2000+ for an extra seat, drive and 3 feet of hull seems a bit much, and now a trailer is mandatory.

I'm sure is is a process issue. Camo is a pain in the a.. The PA17 is a VERY complicated hull to mold.
