With our narrow bow, we are a bit starved for good fish bag options and often have to come up with a less than ideal solution. So if you've got a catch bag mounted to your Revolution, post up a picture and description. Trying to upload a picture of mine, an Ice Mule catchbag, which I had to install a pair of padeyes to tie it to the bow. |

The Hobie medium fish bag (part number 72020113) is the best solution we offer...you can even stuff it inside the hatch and still access the top loading zipper. z267.jpg) 72020113 FISH BAG/COOLER MEDIUM US$ 129.00 0:57 introduces the medium bag. |

In hull as per the hobie one above, or just a soft rectangular cooler with top removed and line underside of hatch lid. No need for an above deck windcatcher when you have an easily accessible hatch |

It will be quite the exercise getting your catch into a bag that's in the forward hull, that's for sure. I have enough trouble getting anything out of the bin I now have up there. Not saying it's impossible, but it won't be easy. |

HStrech, sadly the medium Hobie catchbag is too small for my needs. Here in South Florida we target fish that tend to be kind of long, like King Mackerel, MahiMahi, and Wahoo. At 42", the Icemule is a tad too big to fit inside the bow, maybe I should try a 36" bag. WAVERIDER, you are right, mounting anything on top of the hatch definitely catches the wind, which really sucked for me last tournament when I was caught in a squall. JohnsYak, I can shimmy up to the front hatch no problem, but If I put a fishbag in the bow, it would have to be the right shape to make it easy to load fish and slide it back into position before I close the hatch. These design considerations are common for people who fish out of a Revolution. Outbacks and Pro-Anglers have large bows which easily accommodate large fish bags (not to mention the concave shape of the Outback's bow hatch actually helps to hold the bag). |

I took some measurements today. The Revo 13 bow storage area from the top tip of the bow to the back of the front hatch is around 43 inches roughly. However, because of the taper of the bow, the lower part of the bow to the back of the front hatch is more like 39 inches (or 1 meter for you international readers). The height inside the front of the bow is just about 11 inches, and the height from the bottom of the hull to the opening of the hatch is 13 inches. Incidentally, the width of the kayak at the back of the front hatch is approximately 23 inches (but the hatch is only 12 inches wide). So there are two options for fish bags if you want to get the most of that in-hull area: (1) Use those measurements to either find or make a triangular fish bag OR (2) find a rectangular bag that will fit the length of this in-hull area. I haven't found the best triangular bag on the market for these measurements yet, and I am too cheap to get one custom made. So I'm probably going to go with the rectangular shaped bag. It might be a bit tricky to fit it into the very tip of the bow, but the wider base makes this fish bag more stable than the previous one. I think the drain bung at the bottom will help cleanup as well. Thought I would share my findings, and I'll update as I find more. |
