I was heading to put a down payment to buy a PA12 over the weekend, but now Im waiting, unless I come across an offer I cant refuse. Im really torn between the PA12 and Outback anyway. Reasons... Outback-main reason is weight, it can be paddled if needed, and can be taken down rivers PA12-lots of storage, room, the chair, and stability If the Outback eliminated those 'premoulded' trays on the sides (dont really like the layout of them anyway) there would be more width/room in the cockpit area. Thats the main deal breaker for me on the Outback, width/room of the cockpit, although I'm still considering. Also, the round hatch needs to go. |

Post subject: | Which PA? |
Which PA, the 12' or 14'? If there were a 13'...that would be interesting since I can't reach the very front or back of a 14' while on the water, it would be wasted space in my case. Love my Outback with the 180 drive, have it all set up and fish almost daily. But now that I know just how much time I spend on the water and how big the fish are, I'm hankering for the extra space and better rod storage the 12'PA offers over the Outback. I transport on a trailer anyway, a little heavier/bigger no longer concerns me so I'm considering upgrading to a 12'PA. Any one else heard of this or is it unsubstantiated rumour? Don't see any reps jumping in, definitely taking it with a grain of salt, but will keep an eye on this thread just in case ![]() |

I may look at picking one up as well after a demo. I won't be replacing my PA14s or my wife's Outback with it but it would be nice to have an "in between" boat for quick trips or salt trips where I don't carry near as much gear or as many rods as when I'm tournament bass fishing. |
