Hey folks,

This isn't my original idea (the power pole valve through scupper setup part anyway) and I think it's fantastic for calm shallow water. The DIY stake-out pole (anchor pin etc.) I made works very well, esp. with this valve/plumbing setup as it's just the right fit.

*I'm aware of stated risks of possible damage to the scupper area, but I'm very comfortable taking this risk, esp. in light of my first trial in calm waters.

The original guy's idea (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e68T5KkMn7g) used 3/4" sch 40 PVC which is not a snug fit at all (he used electrical tap to shore up the pipe that goes into the scupper. I would have used marine heat shrink). I'm using 1" CPVC and it's a "perfect" fit.

Here's the part of the whole video for the scupper system (if you don't want to watch the whole pole build section): https://youtu.be/6IRy47YMF4A?t=876

Here's the entire stake out pole/valve-scupper mechanism video:

Wow, that’s pretty complex.

Never had any reservations of staking out through the scupper on calm flats.

It's not really, well actually my video is too complex and long. I know I could have spent more time composing it and editing it but these days I just don't have the time nor care. Again, the scupper valve assembly is SIMPLE, you just need a few dollars in CPVC/PVC, glue and the valve and your done.

As for the stake-out pole, still SIMPLE if you have access to buy the 1/2" sch 40 AL tube. If you don't then it may become cost prohibitive.

The simplicity and ROI/utility of this setup is FANTASTIC IMHO.

Good video.
Now tell us about that seat. Doesn’t look like standard issue to me.
