Post subject:  Hobie Passport (10.5) DIY - Installed Sonar

Felt the need to upgrade from my iBobber setup to something that would provide me with better navigation, visual clarity, etc. Posting this for fellow Passport owners that might be thinking about doing something similar...

Decided on the Garmin Striker Plus 4cv:

Also decided on using a couple Scotty products, the 141 Transducer arm and 368 Universal Mount:

Using my MeGa (amazon) car jump-start battery as my 12v source, and should get 8-10+ hours out of it, pretty easily:

I drilled one hole (3/4") and am using a water-proof gland fitting, resulting in a clean install:

Transducer for the Garmin is big but mounts steady on the arm:

(Sorry, I should have taken a better photo of the articulation)

Here's the rear-view head unit mount:

If you have any questions, let me know and I can provide links, info that I gleaned along the way.
