I have seen quite a few nice photos on this site and would like to take a camera with me. The only digital camera I have now I need to use for work and am deathly afraid to get it wet. If you take a camera with you, what kind is it? Is is water resistant? Do you keep it in a plastic bag or what? Thanks for your input. |

Thanks for your input. ...I used to use a sony cyber shot. But always worried about getting it wet. I used to keep it inside the center hatch in a gallon size plastic bag, then a dry box. Now I use a pentax optio W30. This one stays in my PFD pocket. I don't worry about getting this one wet. |

i use the optio w10, and love it also check out the AquaPac's they do a nice job of keeping things dry and you can't even tell there is a dry bag in the shots! We ran a promotion with a local radio station and the dj's had to send us pictures of them in the kayak, I had to call to see which ones were using the AquaPac's! |

I have been using the Pentax Optio W10 for the past year or so, and it takes great pics. As you can see from my bucket test, you don't have to worry about getting this baby wet! There are a couple of upgrades to the W10--the W20 and the W30. Check them out. ![]() |

The W30 has had some issues with the gasket's leaking , hadn't heard much about the W20 , but the W10 witch is the one I also use has been bullet proof , I hear say the the new OLYMPUS W/P camera is also good . good luck |

Yea Dog, There have also been some auto-focusing issues with the W30, such that some folks recommend using the Pan focusing settings. This is a work-around to avoid the unreasonably long time before the shutter finally fires after the button is depressed. I would probably look for the older W20, if you can find one. Dick |

I use the Olympus. So, far no complaints. Battery lasts for days and I have taken over 100 pics with it. No leaks and the print outs of the pics look great! |

Hey mcat, Those are some fine pics there--I keep forgetting I can get a UW pic of my fish before release. I still have to try that. |
