Post subject:  Mirage Adventure - sailing and fishing

Hello. I'm new to this forum.

Sailing and fishing are my passions. I'm looking at the Mirage Adventure for sailing but I was wondering if anyone can comment if it's a good fishing kayak too?

Obviously, Hobie wouldn't mind me purchasing both (:-)) but that's impractical for me. If the MA isn't good for fishing, I'll have to think which model kayak I would prefer.

Any feedback would be welcome. Thank you.

I love fishing on my Tandem Island. That sail makes trolling super easy! I fished an Adventure Island in the Bahamas with great success. Both are super stable with tons of room for adding accessories. The wide beam also allows for more rods to be out, tangle free.

I fish off my TI (well did before it was rear ended and totaled...) I always fished from the rear seat so the aka and ama are not in the way, but there are plenty of people who fish off both. I have fished with people in the front seat too. Easier on trolling since I can do the net job from the rear seat, but even bottom fish jigging was easy enough.

It was actually a bit of an adjustment to start fishing off my Compass (at least for kokanee/salmon trolling). On the TI I didnt have to really worry about where I put gear, could spread out, etc. Pretty nice platform!
