Would like to find a cam cleat that could attach to the hobie slot system on the passport 12.0 to hold the main sheet. I have seen one V-cleat but I would rather use a clam cleat. Would be nice to slide one into the slot and tighten it down. |

Hi I love sailing my PA 12! I use the H-rail, instead of the slot system. I got the "H-Rail Mounting Plate, attached it to the H-rail on the starboard side (close to my knee), then screwed a small block to the plate, so that the mainsheet comes from the stern, to the block, and is now coming back towards me. I then screwed a cam cleat to the same plate, so that I can easily lock down it or easily release it. And since it's mounted to the H-rail, I can till the angle (which helps in making it easy to lock down or release). Also, having it mounted close to my knee, makes access quick. Oh, I forgot to mention, that I also had to raise the block a 1/4' (I used a thin sheet of marine plywood) so that the sheet fed into the cam cleat correctly. Hope that helps, Mike |

Im having fun with my new Passport 12.0 and will be adding the sail soon. It came in the mail a few days ago. I have a cleat system that will work and I also have the furling system setup with a way it will work fine for me. |
