Post subject:  video youtube+ rudder repair

i just put 2 new videos of my hobie 20( sail 393) on youtube.
hobie 20 upwind
hobie 20 downwind .
i have a tornado spinnaker mounted on a 13 1/2 feet pole.if you want your hobie to fly...
my topic rudder problems... please help is thing of the past now. the guy who repairs small catamarans here told me to advance the mast and gave me some rubberized carpet (IN fact he told me is a minigolf carpet-yes the green one) which i glue inside my lower castings.i fact the big problem was that i had too much SPACE BETWEEN THE RUDDER AND THE lower casting.SO THE PRESSURE WAS SUPORTED ONLY BY THE BOLTS. that's why my rudders kept craking around the holes.soon i will put a picture of my forks with the carpet.so i think is better to fill any space between the rudder and the metal in order to have a very good lateral support from each lower casting .

I'll second that; rudders that are flopping around in the castings are much more prone to cracking.
