Post subject:  Replacement Hull Ports - Flat or Curved

Does anyone know if replacement hatch cover kits for the H20 should be flat or curved? The 08-09 Hobie Cat catalog on page 5 recommends part V1093, a curved cover. Murrays recommends their part number 01-1195WH, a flat cover. The parts diagram in Hobie's catalog shows part number 41370001, "Deck Plate Set". I'd appreciate it if some of you that have replaced your ports would let me know what worked and what didn't.

Thanks,

Flat. The Area at the transom is molded with a recessed, flat flange.

The part is a 5"... so any 5" flat hatch will do.

41370001 HATCH SCREW-IN W/LIP-WHT 5"

There is no recommendation in the catalogs to use the V1093 on a Hobie 20... that one is curved for H14-16.

Matt,

Thanks for setting me straight. I think I confused the entry in the Hobie cataloge with something I read on a dealer website.
