Post subject:  Broken CompTip advice

Hey friends,

So I had an unfortunate accident last night where the mast fell and the CompTip buckled. The metal that guides the sail seems to be intact. I can post some pictures soon.

I'm wondering if anyone has much experience with this. It did not break entirely off, and so would it be possible to support it in some way externally to (unattractively) keep sailing? Would it be worth getting a whole new mast? Or would it be best to buy a CompTip online (I saw $400 + shipping that came to $550)? Is that something a layman can replace or would it require lots of tools and experience to perform this replacement?

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!

Cheers,
Nick

Hey,

Yeah it looks like they do have one. I'm thinking that's gonna be my best bet. I also read somewhere that the H20 and H18 have the same CompTip? Not sure if that is true or not.

The H20 tip has more fiberglass in it.
