I would say no. Certainly not for racing. The Tiger can be a very physical boat, especially the crew position. You'd be super light even for a Hobie 16. |

We seem to be doing pretty well with our H16. I am looking for a more sophisticated hull plan, with boards and optionally wings. I am now thinking NACRA F17 sloop rig. [img][/img] There just doesn't seem to be enough FX One's around to be a serious contender plus I hear they can be a bear to right (10 minutes I will never get back trying to figure out how to post a pic ![]() |

On days under 10 knots, sure, no sweat. Over that, your toast!! Get some sandwiches you two! 230?! I'm 225 alone! Granted I'm 6'9" but still! I would stay away from an F17, too obscure a boat for parts, people to race with. Why not a 16? Add a spin and it's basically a mini-Tiger! Or maybe an F16, Viper or Falcon, Nacra ( I know, a dirty word on the "H" forums!) is coming out with a great looking F16. Add a righting bag and youre in business! Good luck! And if you're still convinced you need a Tiger, buy mine! It's listed on this website as well as the beachcats too! |

lol, I am 57 and have been the exact weight since high school. My wife is an ex-model and prides herself on her weight. She is also 15 years younger than me so I keep busting on her that we'll have to see what happens when she reaches my age. |

Sounds like you need a F-16...Blade or Viper |

At 230#'s you'll have no issues righting an F16. NACRA's F17 is dying. There's a pocket of them in Canada, and handful in Michigan, and a couple in Wisconsin. Also their F16 is nothing but a drawing right now. As of three weeks ago the factory did not have a set of molds yet. I think what they are trying to do is see how many they can pre-sell before doing the first run of boats. 57? Ex-model wife? 15 years younger? Next you're going to tell us you took the proceeds of winning the lottery and got in heavy on the ipo's for Microsoft, Google, and Apple. ![]() |
