Post subject:  SNU Snuffer rigging.
I'm trying figure out how to rig SNU snuffer on my Hobie Fox. Here is an image of how a Nacra is set up compared to Hobie Fox. Before I do something drastic and punch a few holes through middle of the sail for the halyard, is there something I'm missing? How should I rig my spinnaker so I can use an SNU?

pjared...the length of the SNU will determine how many patches you'll need on the spinnaker. If the bag attaches at the front crossbar you'll probably need three patches (like the NACRA diagram). If it's longer (goes under the tramp) you might be able to get by with two. Contact Dennis Key at http://gobarefootstudio.com/ for more info and applications.

We'll be making our own. We got a guy in our club that has mad sowing skills and will make us a nice bag. I had not considered running it much longer than the spinnaker pole. We'll get things measured and check out where and how many patched to put in. Should we run the line through a hole or a strap?

Your choice either to weave or thread on one side. Most F18 spinnakers thread on one side either through a strap or small stainless ring. The end of the retrieval line is bowline knot tied to a strap on the top patch.

You should consider a mid-snuffer pole design. They work the best.
