Paul Hess wrote an article in the HCA news about the importance of sharing ideas(SEPT/OCT issue 2003).Since then their has been a Gavin Colby,Shaun Ferry clinics ,with very little written about them.Bob Merrick had a great article about what I learned after the last worlds.I was hoping to see more articles like that.I realize it takes quite a bit of effort to get it all written up.Just wishfull thinking on my part |

To set up a clinic cost a fair amount of money and the participants pay for it. If they could then get all the information for free why would they come? If they did not come then there would be no more clinics. I know that if you talked to the individuals that participated they would help you out with what they gleaned from the clinics but you cannot just write it up and publish what was there. I also ran a couple of clinics for the Tigers in California. The speakers were Pease and Jay Glaser. It was a great success and will probably happen again. I asked the participants to share in the cost of the speakers, gas and food. There was not one person that thought they did not get their moneys worth. Later, Dan |

The intent was not that I was looking for something for free.In fact I inquired about the Shaun Ferry Clinic and was told it was only open to the top skippers in Div 3.Maybe as a suggestion for those that are not fortunate enough to attend, have it videoed and sell copies. In fact that was done at the Sand Snake regatta in Ar.They had Wally Meyers as a G.E.P and they video taped it and sold copies of it.I bought a copy and found it quite usefull.Just trying to find ways for us northeners to get up to speed with you fast Californians |
