Check out the May issue of SAIL magazine. There is a nice article by David Schmidt on the five most popular one-design boats. It features the Hobie 16, Laser, Sunfish, Optimist and the J/24. Inside is a short interview with the current Hobie 16 World Champion helm Shaun Ferry. |

Hey Bob,how did you get the May issue so early.I guess I did not read your post closely enough and when I went to the bookstore I flipped through the whole issue of the April Sail Mag. looking for this article.The good news is I found the April issue of Sailing World had a special on the Laser.I found out I have one thing in common with Gary Jobson (no not sailing skills).The laser for me like him is " my other boat".The hobie 16 is still my boat. |

Finnaly got to see the article.I am looking at the picture of the hobie 16's that are with the article and I recognize the sail #'s.That is a picture from the Div. 7 regatta in Spicer Minn.The one boat sail#109310 is Slim Johnsons boat and my daughter is crewing for him. |
