Preliminary results for the 2008 Hobie Mid Winters West in San Felipe, BC, Mexico are posted on the new Division 3 website at: http://www.div3.hobieclass.com/default.asp?Page=7662 Winds were light on Saturday but built through the day. We had enough for four races and everyone had a good time. Racing on Sunday was abandoned due to high winds. This is why I don't go to San Felipe. It goes from light wind to too much wind. This seems to be typical for this site -- the wind doesn't seem to be in the 5-20k range much. Sorry. Just calling it like I sees it. |

There are a lot of regattas I go to every year that the wind might be less than 5k or more than 20k one of the days. Regardless, I don't think anyone who went would have changed their minds even if they knew what the wind was going to do in advance. The sailing on Saturday was good enough, and the party was great. Your drive would be pretty long and might not justify the risk of not having two perfect days, but what venue can always do that? |

I have raced many, many years down there with great conditions. Not always bad. When it is cold in San Diego and you get 70-80 degrees over there... it is always worth it! |
