After a long postponement for high winds, we got underway today at about 4 pm with a steady 12 kts / gusts to about 20. Phil / Bev Collins started the day with 3 bullets from Wednesday. There was no racing yesterday due to high winds / thunderstorms. First race was a course 2, 0.9 nm weather leg with the wind from 240. Committee boat is anchored right off the beach. Phil and Bev continued their dominance by winning the first race today. Al Leonard / Steve Lawlor were second. Second race of the day is underway in about 9.5 knots, same course and distance. 9:45 AM - Committee boat is on station, we're under postponement, waiting for the wind to settle down. It was 10-12 kts when we first came out, but has died off to under the 5 kt minimum. |

Race 8 winners: Phil / Bev Collins Paul / Erin Bommersbach Dale / Eric Dorschner Race 9 underway. Wind is very light - only about 6 kts at the start. There's line of clouds directly over us. Beautiful blue skies to the west over the lake. Course is 1. Distance 0.8 nm, direction is 020. |
