Post subject: | TF Questions |
I'm interested in the TF and based on my area winds I wanted to know what the takeoff flying speed would be? I get a daily afternoon wind from 5-15 knots but the good days generating white caps between 10-20 kts. When the wind dies its like 3 kts and I wondering if sailing upwind slow to get home is possible or would I need an auxilliary motor for that little wind to go upwind? I'm in Southern CA and looking for a TF if any are for sale. Distance is no issue as I enjoy an occasional road trip. Also wondering if there were multiple TF models or just the one size? |

One TF was built by Hobie Cat. Take off wind speed is 10-12 knots. Crew weight is a factor. You can sail upwind in lighter winds, but very shallow angles and slow. |
