Has anyone use a kite on a bravo? It seems that you could conect it to the A Frame. |

works great, though launching is sketchy as hell if you don't have a good beach (in our case, a poorly built dock with lots of nailheads and wind obstructions): ![]() |

To clarify: 1. If anyone tries this you're going to do something stupid and probably kill yourself, so don't do it. 2. Best method for kite attachment is a bridle tied between the 6 drain holes in the cockpit. This does increase the likelihood of entanglement in the lines so beware. 3. Don't try it in gusty or shifty conditions as a water relaunch is near impossible. Now if you meant spinnaker: I don't believe the Bravo was ever meant to carry the loads of a spinnaker especially on a reach. However it can be done by lashing a block to the float (through the hole in the float) and unfurling the sail prior to rigging a halyard. Using the boom as a makeshift pole is ill advised as without a downhaul it's worthless and you'll also probably break your gooseneck like we did. However, dead downwind with no boom is a lot of fun in 3 knots if you're really bored. |
