Hi folks, I am working at my old camp this summer. Was a former camper and head of sailing many moons ago, and I am back this summer to find the boats in a mess. First, let me apologize if this is a stupid question. Is the mast ball supposed to spin? I remember rigging the Hobie Bravos a few years ago and the mast balls left to spin, but it appears the maintenance team has screwed them down so they do not spin. Thanks for your input. |

They should spin on the Bravo. |

Matt, mine does not spin either when the screw in the ball is tightened; perhaps the screw is too short. Can you please tell me the proper screw length so that the screw bottoms out before becoming tight on the ball? |

No idea if these are the originals, and the maintenance crew couldn't tell me either. Thoughts? |

If you still have the original screw... You can back it out to allow the ball to spin. The screw has a "long "lock" nylon strip that acts as a locking feature like a loc nut. 8030411 SCREW 12-24X3/4 LONG LOCK PHMS |
