I've owned my Hobie Bravo for maybe two years now and it often takes a sailing back seat to my H16/H18 other than quick runs along the foreshore and sailing in the dam with the kids. Well the weekend just passed my son and I decided to join our local Hobie Island Club for their Christmas sail which was an 18km round trip down the Pumicestone Passage in Queensland, Australia. The passage is notorious for sand bars and unseen mud formations making the Bravo a clear choice. Never taken the Bravo on such a long journey I was quite surprised at how well it performed alongside the Adventure/Tandem Islands including many of the newer 2015 models. With 10-15kts it blasted through the island fleet flying a pirate flag I had mounted for the kids on our last camping trip. I noticed a huge upwind advantage with being able to point alot higher and being able to sheet in harder for alittle extra speed. The downwind leg however had us all on par.
Enjoy the photos ;)

It seems obvious to me that your extra speed is coming from that massive pirate flag! ;)

Great shots - looks like it was a fun day.
