Hi
Just bought some new hiking straps and buckles for the bravo but for the life of me I can't seem to thread them so they won't pull out!
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Aren't the hiking straps just tied together?

the original webbing was just threaded through the plastic buckle however I can't seem to thread the webbing through the buckle so they don't slip out. Not sure if the're long enough to tie knots anyhow. I should have taken a photo of the original setup before throwing the old ones out.

(Having capsized in the sea earlier this year and dislocating my shoulder I'm not taking any unlikely chances before I sail her again. So I have been replacing any possible weaknesses due to it being a 5 year old boat - glad I replace the handles which broke the first day I used it - as I couldn't climb back on and had to hold on one of the back handles till I drifted back to shore - about 1 km).

P.s. If I can tie the webbing together any suggestions of what sort of knot?

Have you been back-threading for the last step? It is the same thing done in climbing harnesses and belts to prevent slipping. You know, like an old, three-post belt (boy scout style).

Brilliant! Thanks Spyeder. I've doubled over one end and then back threaded both ends on the buckle! I now can't budge it! (What a relief!)
