Hello all, Full disclosure, this is a second-hand (yet fully-loved) Bravo. I was sailing along yesterday and crossed over a wake. There was a squeaking sound from the front support of the a-frame. Upon closer inspection, I could see that it was shifting up and down about a quarter-inch. Is this normal? Thanks Update: 77 views and no comments. This looks like a lot of people are also wondering about the same topic. |

No, that's not normal. Take it apart and find the worn parts or fasteners. Use thread locker on the bolts otherwise they will loosen up quickly with use. |

Thanks! I took the front support apart as much as I could (loctite red can be awful stuff) and found that the plastic base has a groove instead of a hole for the screw to go through. New part ordered (Thanks West Coast Sailing!) and I'll be back on the water next week. ![]() |

Blue Loctite is sufficient, not sure why someone would use red unless that's all they had on hand or didn't know the difference. A bit of heat will remedy that right quick unless it's too close to the plastic hulls. |
